….THE BEST HIKE
Basically, you take a bus to the end of the line and end up in Boca de Tomatlan, from there you do a gorgeous hike and pass tiny secret beaches. You end up in Animas which is a huge meh, so I highly recommend taking your time and stopping a lot. Check out this post that highlights how to get to Boca, and details the difficulty of the trail.
Boca de Tomatlan
On the hike…
The first secret beach, I swear the sand was made of gold
Passing by closed down resort
As we approached Animas the group was hungry and in need of alcohol. We turned a corner and stumbled upon Casitas Maraika. A little haven with very few visitors and a private beach, it was an enchanting resort.
We took over this place, spending a lot of time lounging in their hammocks, plush couches, and private beach. It was incredible and we all left fantasizing about having our honeymoons here.
No joke – This is the BEST margarita I have ever had.
The happiest dogs around
Made it to Animas, very lackluster after the incredible day
Hint: You can jump off this pier, it is so much fun
Highly recommend taking a water taxi back right as the sun is setting, simply stunning.
