Portland Eats – Miho Izakaya

Miho Izakaya is in the Overlook District, quiet on a Thursday night with a great atmosphere. My general review was I would go back again if I lived in Portland. Since I have so many places on my “To Eat” I am not running to come back here. It was a great meal but not my favorite from this trip.

Most of the dishes were amazing but there were some slip-ups. I did not enjoy the Wakame Seaweed Salad, I am sure this is a more authentic version than the over-dyed version Japanese places normally serve but it just didn’t get me there. The other huge meh is totally my fault. All the yelp reviews warned that the Miso Pork Ramen was just not good. Everything from the noodles to the broth to the meat was just not edible. 10/10 do not recommend. However the Misobutter Grilled Asparagus….close my eyes and savor. I was actually mad my mom took the last bite. The Ahi Poke was pretty good, nothing to write home about. My mom went nuts over the Wasabi Watermelon.
